The new iPhone is here

iPhone 2.0 was announced an hour ago at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference. I followed the action at Engadget - which was great and updated every few seconds with excerpts of the presentation and some nice pics.

So, the new iPhone...
  • is 3G (so loads web pages via mobile almost as fast as wifi)
  • is lighter (not much)
  • is thicker (a bit) Update - or might be thinner, reports vary
  • has GPS (and a tracker that 'pings' with your current location)
  • has a black back (erm, yay?)
  • features a flush headphone jack (yawn)
  • is out on July 11
Six days before my birthday. Perfect.
