Google has shut down it's Second Life-style virtual world service Lively. It'll be gone by December 31.
Not a massive deal really - at some point Google was going to have to start shutting things. I imagine the open / shut rate is still 100 / 1.

I wish other web properties would do the same, there is an awful lot of muck and little brass out there in web 2.0 world at the moment.
Surprised Lively got shut down so fast though, I prefered it in some ways to Second Life. It joins the annals of former Google services alongside Google Answers
I'd forgotten about Google Answers. Amazing to think that you used to pay money for a Google service...
